1. Who we are
This policy explains how Wildlife Projects Pty Ltd (ABN 52 678 701 025), trading as Wildbnb Wildlife Habitat (“Wildbnb”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We won’t use or share your information except as described here.
2. What we collect
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, email, phone number, postcode and property address.
- Information about your property and project, such as its size, land use, wildlife you’ve seen and your goals.
- Records of our communication, quotes, proposals, invoices and payments.
We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver our services. You can contact us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general questions, but we need your details to quote or work on your property.
3. Website and log data
When you visit the website, your browser automatically sends information such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit and the time spent on each page. Our hosting and analytics providers use this to keep the website secure and to show us, in aggregate, how it’s used. We don’t use it to identify you.
4. How we use your information
- To reply to enquiries, prepare quotes and proposals, and deliver installation and monitoring.
- To send reports, invoices and service updates.
- To send news about our work, only if you’ve agreed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can ask us to stop at any time.
- To improve our website and services.
5. Your property and wildlife data
Many of our clients prefer their projects to stay private, and we respect that. We don’t publish your name, property name or exact location without your permission. We may use images and wildlife data from your site for research, partner reporting and promotion, described by region only.
Records of threatened species may be shared with government biodiversity databases and research partners, without your personal details, to support conservation.
6. Wildlife cameras
Our wildlife cameras are placed to record animals, but they can occasionally capture people. We don’t use these images to identify anyone, we don’t publish them, and we delete them unless they’re needed for safety or legal reasons.
7. Who we share it with
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as our customer management system (Monday.com), email, website hosting, analytics and accounting providers. They may only use your information to provide services to us and must keep it confidential.
- Research and funding partners, only where your project is part of a partnership you’ve agreed to.
- Anyone else only with your consent, or where required or authorised by law, such as a court order or a request from a regulator.
We never sell your personal information.
8. Storage outside Australia
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We choose providers with strong security and privacy practices and take reasonable steps to make sure they handle your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our website uses essential cookies to work properly, and may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use it. Embedded videos from Vimeo may also set cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the website may not work as well without them.
10. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, such as tax records, and then delete or de-identify it.
If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we’ll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
11. Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites, such as Vimeo, Instagram and partner websites. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies.
12. Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian’s consent. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
